The Separator Unit Model 2255 is a complete unit for oil-free testing and calibration, normally in combination with a hydraulic Deadweight Tester. The unit contains an Oil/Gas Separator Model 8335 and a gas pressure control unit. The separator has no diaphragm between the oil and gas. The natural separation between the two media does not affect the accuracy of measurement. The level of separation can be checked through the monitoring glasses.
Operation:
The gas pressure control unit of the Separator Model 2255 is connected via a hose to high pressure gas supply and to the Separator Model 8335 which is fitted onto the test connection of, for example, a hydraulic Deadweight Tester. The instrument under test is fitted onto the test connection of the gas pressure control unit, after which a pressure is generated. Using the needle valves of the gas pressure control unit the gas pressure can be set in such a way that the separation level between oil and gas is in the middle of the monitoring glass of the Model 8335 Oil/Gas Separator. The gas pressure control unit has a built-in Dirt Separator, Model 2525, for protecting the gas pressure control unit (and Deadweight Testers) against dirt and moisture.
